Into the wild....

My days are filled with Eddie Vedder's new solo album "Into the wild", I practically listen to it all the time, whether I'm on the bus, walking home, working out - it doesn't matter... This album is outstanding! If you are at all into the good sing-a-song writer style - buy it!!!

The album is actually a soundtrack from the film by Sean Penn, also called "Into the wild" which is a true story based on a guy from a weathy unhappy family. Once he graduates from college he burns all his money and gives away all his stuff, and just leaves to live in the wild in Alaska. The film will be in the Danish movietheaters from November 30th... So if you're too stingy to buy a great album, you can always just listen to the tunes while watching what a think will be an awesome movie in the theater.

Also, I found some great pics online from the Pearl Jam concert I went to in Copenhagen 4 months ago..

A long walk on a long wall, and a nasty true story

Back from Prague and China!!! I guess I can start out saying it was two entirely different trips!!
At least they can speak english in Prague...
Let me start out with Prague - The boys were great. Funny moments, like when I woke up the first morning cause I heard someone whispering around in my room - it was Nick headed towards the window, I followed him with half an eye open and a massive headache from the previous night's drinking. He pulls the curtain aside, turns and looks at me: "Nice amigo, now we're in goddamn Bucharest!". WHAT??? Dude, we're in Prague! Well, my laughing definitely cleared my headache...ha ha. As you can imagine we didn't do much besides drinking in Prague. 4 days of straight fun with the boys. This wont be the last time I will leave to conquer a European capital with the boys!

Two weeks later I left for Beijing with Mary and her parents. I must say this has by far been my greatest culture shock ever! Never ever have I come across a more, withdrawn people than the Chinese. They have no desire getting to know you and they are NASTY!!! However it was a HUGE experience in both good and bad. Walking the Great Wall is something everyone must do at some point in their life. Beijing in general is a very interesting place to visit, however the Chinese do not and I mean they do not speak a single word of English. I am very worried about them hosting the Olympics next year… Shanghai however is not a place I would recommend visiting. It is very dirty and crowded, with very little sights to offer. I guess you can say I was rather disappointed, it is just another western metropolis unlike Beijing which still has some Chinese culture left. It’s a bit sad, cause the Chinese have an old saying that goes like this – “In order for the new stuff to get here, the old stuff must go”. This means that they are tearing down their charming small hutongs (I have included a picture in the link below), so they can build new highrisers.
Like I said the Chinese are Nasty, and I will finish my post off with a true story from the trip.

One morning at our hotel in Shanghai, I felt like getting buzzcut so I went down to the barbershop in the hotel. I arrived 5 min before they opened, so I waited until the barber came 5 min later. He showed me to the chair and I started explaining how I wanted my head buzzed. He didn’t speak a word of English even though he worked at a hotel, so I pointed at the buzzcutter and moved my hand over my head while making a buzzing sound. He smiled as if he understood what I wanted done. Then he opens his cabinet and pulls out a toothbrush and starts brushing his teeth in the sink where he also washes people’s hair before giving them a haircut. He has no clue that he at this point is reaching my limits at a rather fast pace. I just sat there staring at him, then started spitting down in that same sink! And when I say spitting I mean spitting, it sounded as if he was coughing all the intestines he probably had for dinner the night before up all over the sink. I could just imagine all the snot floading around in the sink. So I got up looked at him and said “Nevermind”!, and went out to the elevator. He walked after me, and there he was looking at me as the elevator doors closed between us – with a face expression revealing that he had absolutely no clue why I had left an no longer wanted a haircut…..
I hope you enjoyed my little story as I am laughing typing it.

Praha and the long lost wedding pics

Am I a lazy s.o.b???

Most people would certainly say yes to that question, including myself... but nevertheless - I am back to say: "I am out of here in less than 48 hours"!

Going to Prague with the boys, we leave thursday morning and return on sunday afternoon. Our agenda in Prague: ahh, I better keep that to myself..he he. But the lord knows we ain't going down there to look at churches :=)
However, I will post pictures so you can see for yourselves what went on down there... I can assure you tough.....it invloves a few beers... Our first mission is to find a sportsbar that has Sweden-Denmark on live... We have some unfinished business that needs to be settled from the game 2 months ago in Copenhagen, where we came back from 0-3 to 3-3 before an insane stupid lame Danish idiot (who by the way lives in Sweden) decided to storm the pitch and assault the ref which obviously resolved in a 0-3 defeat even though they were in the bag. What a game, and what a horrible tragic outcome to the best soccergame I ever saw....
Also, I finally got around to post some pics from my sisters wedding 3 months ago....
Well, have fun while I'm having fun in Praha....

Vacation September....

Hey everybody,
Just thought I'd brag a bit about my upcomming vacation plans...
I leave for Prague with the boys (Nick, Travolta, Doctor Stein, Daniel Dr. Jimenez, Daniel B., and Christian). We leave Copenhagen on September 6th at 8.15 a.m. To keep our traditions from previous similar trips going we've decided to go out on Copenhagen the night before for drinks etc. at our local bar "McKluuds" before crashing at Nick's house....That flight is going to suck!!!!

I guess my Prague trip with my boys can be interpreted as a warm-up trip to the major highlight of this summer/fall - CHINA!!! Yep, Mary and I have accepted an invitation from her parents to join them on their trip to China. We leave for Beijing sometime around the 23rd of September, where we will stay for 5 days. Then we're taking the train to Shanghai where we will stay for about 5 days as well. Can't wait, I'll be eating dogs, a fried pig's ass, froglegs and maybe even a few cockroaches.... nice!

Well, I'll post pics from Signes wedding in May, I promise Val!!!

Later folks....Forza FCK

Metallica was here...

Nice nice nice... but if I ever come across that dumbass who pulled the plug 10 min into the concert I don't know what I'll do to him!

This was my 2nd Metallica concert - my first Metallica concert was in Milwaukee 10 years ago when I was an exchange student in the US. I gotta say, these guys sure know how to crank it up still. I don't think I've ever played the air guitar this much at any concert. They played all the old stuff - but especially "Fade to Black" was amazing!

But like I started out mentioning, the speakers lost the sound 3 songs into the concert, it was horrible, but I gotta say Mr. Hetfield came out with the coolest comment on it afterwards: "Sorry about the little intermission folks, Lars' make-up was running so we had to go backstage for a little while....I meen He's gotta look good for his people!".

The beer was once again very cold, and the weather was amazing, what more could you want. My corncert tour is over now - Justin warmed up, Pearl Jam almost made me cry, and Metallica sealed it all off perfectly.... I am a bit sad though, cause I am not sure if this really was my last time at a PJ or Metallica concert... we'll see...

Hope all is well....

This is how we say goodbye in Seattle....

I am still Alive......but it's gonna take awhile to digest last nights performance from Pearl Jam... What a concert, it was one of those nights where everything just fell into the right place. The venue, the crowd, the setlist, Stone's guitar solos and not but least - Eddies vocal, was absolutely AMAZING... The concert at Madison Square Garden 4 years ago rocked, but last night sure did as well. Climax for me came during "Alive" and "Black" both songs from the debut album "Ten". Eddie gave a long fine speech on the band's feelings on being back in DK after the tragedy at Roskilde Festival in 2000. Stone Gossard's guitar solos was once again outstanding, and I must say "Yellow Ledbetter" once again proved to be the perfect song to end an outstanding concert, just like at Madison Square Garden 4 years ago. Eddie's final statement before playing the final tune "Yellow Ledbetter": "This is how we say goodbye in Seattle!"

1 down 2 to go.....

Hi all.
It's been awhile since my last update, once again I prove myself to be the laziest
person walking around - well not really... when it comes to attending concerts I would have to say that I am probably one of the most active humanbeings these days. On saturday night I went to the first out of three concerts in 3 weeks. I saw Justin Timberlake at Parken in Copenhagen with Mary, Christian and Katrine. Don't pass out - I know Justin ain't excactly my thing, but Mary was bugging me forever for tickets, so Christian and I finally decided to surprise our girls with tickets. The concert itself, was okay I guess, I mean the guy can definitely dance, but the sound setup was absolutely terrible. It does not make me proud to think that the owners of my beloved FCK arranged this event.
Yesterday I called Gorm on the phone, and I think he described it all very well when he said that he didn't know what I was doing at a Justin Timberlake concert, and that he needed to hook me up with a Pearl Jam concert a.s.a.p to get me back to my good old self. So that is what we'll do tomorrow: PEARL JAM live at forum in Copenhagen. Once again I will go with Christian, before the three of us (Gorm, Christian and I) travel to Aarhus, Denmark to see Metallica live on July 13th.....
I will let you know and possibly try and take some pics as well....
Eddie is king!!!!
Later!!!!

Wedding bells, new job and the return of Jimenez

Hey everybody,
Just thought I'd throw in an update that wasn't about soccer! A few updates:
My sister Signe and Morten are getting married at Frederiksberg Church on saturday, so we are a little busy these days getting everything coordinated. Tomorrow wednesday, friends from USA and Singapore arrives and the party will start up a bit - nice.....
Especially considering I'm currently on my last escape from reality. I quit my job at Kivex in April and start my new job as an Account Manager with the leading power supplier in DK, Dong Energy. I am very excited about this as my situation with worsened ever since the arrival of a new boss. So I am very excited about starting a new era with Dong Energy. So what escape from reality am I talking about? I'm talking about the fact that Kivex accepted my request to be released from all duty at the company the day I quit. So I am on vacation pretty much till June 1st.
Highlights of the Summer:
-Signe and Mortens wedding (May)
-Jimenez returns from 4 months in Thailand, Aussieland, New Zealand and Fiji (June)
-Pearl Jam at Forum (June)
-Metallica at Aarhus (July)
-Going to Prague with the boys (August?)
-Vacation with Mary (dates and destination haven't been decided yet)
-FCK in Champions League? (Start praying everyone)
I will be back on sunday with pics from the wedding!
Later!

In hiding behind enemy lines and a true story on hooliganism

Hello there!

Last night was amazing, interesting and a bit scary. I guess you can say I got to experience good and evil at a professional soccer game!

Let me start from the beginning. Sad not being able to either see Brøndby-FCK live at the stadium or on TV with a friend, Gorm proved to be my savior when he called me up tuesday afternoon offering me an extra ticket to the game at Brøndby Stadium where FCK could clinch their 6th danish title.

It didn't take long to accept his offer, but what I didn't know was where I would be sitting. So I went to the game with Gorm and Jim, both Brøndby supporters! Outside the stadium after finishing my 3rd beer they asked if we should enter the stadium: "Oh by the way Henrik, we're standing on the Faxe stand!". "WHAT?????", I replied. Yep, they screwed me up big time, I realized that this was going to be quite a different experience for me. So we entered, and there I was in the middle of 5.000 hardcore Brøndby fans. The game started, and FCK had control from the beginnig, however I realized where I was and kept my thoughts about the whole thing to myself. No FCK singing this time. However Gorm and Jim made sure I knew all about their passion for their team, including their hatred for my team.... 32 min into the game, Gravgaard jumps and heads the ball cross to Allback who scores!!!! 1-0!!! The adrenaline in my body was pumping, the Faxe stand was all of a sudden very quiet, and I went down on my knees, showed my fist in my mouth and bit the living shit out of it....I really had to maintain control, cause I'm sure those 5.000 bastards would like to kick some ass, and I am positive I was about the only FCK supporter on that whole stand! The rest of the game is history, let's just say congratulations FCK!!!! The more beer, the harder it was to keep quiet out of my own safety, but I managed and survived 90 min behind enemy lines, and I am sure no one had a clue the enemy was standing right next to them. Today would be a great day to watch Platoon!

Oh well, after the game as we exited the stadium, I heard a very loud bang, I turned and looked: "Hurry, they're right aroud the corner!" and about 100 Brøndby hooligans ran towards us, I quickly stepped aside, and realized how frustrated and pissed off they were, I thought to myself: *This is insane, and then what a good thing I left my FCK jersey in the closet at home....". I don't know how the incident ended, but I do know that hooliganism is very well alive in DK - unfortunately.

So here I am today, with a tiny headache, BT and EkstraBladet (two Danish newspapers), reading all about the game and enjoying the pics from last night, I'll suggest you do the same by clicking here

Back from Amsterdam....

Hey everybody!

Just got back from Amsterdam yesterday, 10 min before kick-off - FC Midtjylland-FCK. Nice timing! Let me just say 4-1 is a very nice performance lads, you truly make me proud.

Anyways, we had an awesome trip to Amsterdam. Lotte (my friend from my year in the US) and her boyfriend Jochanan were great hosts and very hospitable as always! Thanks a lot for a great time guys!

What did we do, while we were there?

Well, first of all we ate out a lot, Amsterdam is a bit more cheaper than Copenhagen so we took advantage of that...he he

We went on a canal cruise, toured the Anne Frank House, very depresseive but yet very interesting and I must say it was worth waiting 50 min in line for! Other than that Mary were in a great shopping mood, however I'm not sure she shopped enough, but then again can she ever reach that point? We also walked down almost every street of the city and went to the beach.

I must tell you about the prank from Amsterdam. On friday afternoon I got an SMS from Christian asking if I wanted to hook up for a beer later on that night, so obviously I replied: Yeah I'm in Amsterdam! A couple of hours later he replied: Yeah, we're on our way, be there in 5 hours! So I immediately called him up and could hear Jens cursing in the car with him. Shit they're on their way! So they arrived in Amsterdam at about 8 p.m. that night after 9 hours of driving. They had spareribs and stopped by the Elf where the rest of us were having dinner, and stayed for a beer. Then we all walked through the Red Light District, and then they went back to Copenhagen at midnight!!! Before they left they said: Yeah, the spareribs in Amsterdam are great, now lets get the fuck out of here!! I still cannot believe they did this, I have tons of respect and admiration for a stunt like that. Here I am in Amsterdam with my friends and girlfriend having a nice dinner, and these two boneheads stop by! Crazy shit, but well done my boys, I will never forget it!

Let me just once again thank Lotte and Jochanan for being the greatest of hosts, hope to see you again in Copenhagen soon!

Check out our pics from the trip by clicking here

Peace out!

Drunken nights....and big concerts coming!!!

Hi all!

I just realized I haven't updated my site in ages, I must admit a lot has happended since my last update.

First of all congrats to Eugen and Louise for their cute baby boy - Lucas! I signed him up as a member of the FCK Fan Club the day he was born so I guess you can say he is off to a great start!!!

Mary and I are currently working on our trip to Amsterdam and it turns out I didn't just win one ticket but two! Nice, we're leaving on April 5th and return on the 9th. I think its about time I take some time off, I've only had two weeks off from work in the last year - American standards!!!!Oh well....transsibiria is also around the corner....

The drunken nights - I went out with El Ron "the legend" Travolta and the Spanish frigate Jimenez on a thursday night a few weeks ago. We checked out Heidi's downtown, however Jimenez bailed out at 1 .am. The Legend stayed out by himself until 6 a.m. I don't think I need to explain the legend any further - RESPECT! Euge also stopped by during the warmups that night at my house, he was very confused on whether or not to go for one last escape before becoming a daddy!

Spring is right around the corner and so is a few hardcore concerts for me. I bought tickets for Pearl Jam at Forum on June 26th and Metallica in Århus on July 13th. I guess you can say I'm in for a hardcore time...can't wait. This will be my 3rd PJ concert and my 2nd Metallica concert. Hopefully Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam will salute my site by singing "Alive".....

Thats all for now, but trust me Eddie and Lars Ullrich will be on here soon enough. Have fun!

Free trip to Amsterdam for me.....

A little funny story I want to share with you!

Yesterday, Mary and I went to the annual travel exhibition at Bella Centret, just to find a little inspiration and to look at all the interesting offers out there.

About half and hour before closing we passed Transavia's stand (a dutch low-cost airfare agency), and they had a competition where you had to fold an airplane out of a piece of paper and get it to fly through a 20-30 cm wide hole in a roll-up screen. I made it!!!!

My Prize: A free r/t ticket Copenhagen-Amsterdam! The funny part is that Mary and I were planning on going down there over easter anyways, originally we wanted to drive but now we'll fly! Nice.....aiming buddy!

I also strongly want to encourage you all to go to the exhibition next year, I mean you can always just go and collect a free ticket to Amsterdam! But seriously, some of the offers were incredible: 10 day luxury safari in South Africa - 12.000 kr. (normal price 16.000).

But Transsibiria it still is for Mary and me.... but first we're going to Amsterdam! See you soon Lotte!
